The performance will last 16 hours, but you don't have to! Show up when you're able, and play the piece as many times as you can. The orchestra will change throughout the day, expanding and contracting as performers come and go.
You can even sit for several sessions, as your schedule permits! Every time you play, it counts towards your total.
Orchestra Time Lapse
The VEXATIONS Orchestra will change throughout the day as performers come and go. One of those dots could be you!
WHAT DOES IT SOUND LIKE?
Originally a piece for piano, we've arranged it for multiple players on any instrument.
It's much easier to play than it looks! Satie was an eccentric composer, and Vexations is full of accidentals and strange enharmonic note spellings, like B♭♭ and E#. You'll really have to get into a Satie frame of mind for this one! But it can be done.
The music contains a bass voice, a middle voice, and a high voice. Find the part that suits the range, key, and clef of your instrument below.
